At Rehmann, we  empower the purpose of our clients. We empower our associates to learn, grow, and achieve their goals, whatever they may be. We’ve built a culture where our people can be themselves because we recognize the importance of balancing life and work, ensuring everyone feels welcomed and appreciated, and has the support they need to be successful.

We take care of our associates because they are Rehmann.

An engaged associate cares about the work they do, strives to do their best, plays an active role in supporting the firm’s culture, and is committed to supporting the needs of our clients. Engagement is something we take seriously and continually work on because a highly engaged workforce is a key piece of our culture.

We conduct an annual survey to gain feedback on how we are doing in multiple areas, such as growth and development, acceptance and respect, having the necessary tools and resources, confidence and pride in the firm, and more. The national benchmark for a healthy workplace culture is a rating of 70% or higher; with our annual associate engagement survey, we achieved a record-high favorability rating for our firm of 74.7% in 2023.

Results are shared firmwide as part of our commitment to transparency, and we actively address any identified areas of opportunity.

Our culture supports associates bringing their whole selves to work. One way we do that is with Flexible Work Arrangements, which allow eligible associates to work a schedule that is best for them. This includes working fully remote or hybrid, flex time, reduced schedule, and other options.

This flexibility helps our associates achieve their ideal work-life integration and helps Rehmann keep valuable talent  at the firm.

No one can be fully engaged in their work if they are concerned about their lives outside of work, which makes effective work-life integration essential for everyone’s success.

There are numerous ways our associates can develop and grow skills that help their careers. As our work is always evolving and we want to provide clients the most current information and guidance possible, ongoing learning is vital. In 2023, we began a partnership with LinkedIn Learning that gives our team members access to literally thousands of training courses in multiple topics. Associates are empowered to determine their own learning paths, choosing the topics, competencies, and skills they most want to learn.

For our accounting associates, becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a huge career milestone. It also takes a significant commitment of time and finances. Rehmann offers a CPA Education Program that helps with the cost of books and tuition for those who qualify. We also partner with Becker CPA Review Course, which allows us to cover 100% of the cost for associates taking these courses.

Maintaining a CPA license also requires ongoing learning, and we regularly offer courses for our associates to gain continuing professional education (CPE) credits.

Our Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) supports recruitment and retention of women while increasing the number of women in principal and ownership roles. This work is so important in what has been a traditionally male-dominated profession. We continue to see results every year as evidenced by our ongoing inclusion on the Accounting MOVE Project's list of Best Firms for Women and for Equity Leadership. Women comprise 37% of our ownership group (a higher percentage than many of our peers) and hold key leadership positions throughout the firm including chief executive officer, chief financial officer, department director, office managing principal, and more.

Our internships focus on providing a meaningful experience that includes working with clients, being involved in a variety of projects, learning business skills, and more. Many of our principals and senior-level associates started their Rehmann careers as interns, so we know a solid foundation of learning can lead to a great career.

Our associates are the heart of Rehmann. We always want them to feel appreciated and supported. We have a variety of ways we show our appreciation, but the most enjoyable is when we bring people together.

Each office hosts fun activities such as happy hours, holiday parties, potlucks, and outings like bowling, golfing, trips to the zoo, and much more. We also get together for regional events as a way to say thank you.
